The G.U.M. (Genito-Urinary Medicine) clinic  is a NHS run clinic for all aspects of sexual health.

Sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and HIV

We offer screening and treatment for the following sexual infections and other genital conditions:

  • Chlamydia
  • Candidiasis
  • Gonorrhoea
  • Syphilis
  • Non Specific Urethritis (NSU)
  • Lymphogranuloma venereum
  • Genital warts
  • Molluscum contagiosum
  • Genital Herpes
  • Pubic lice
  • Pelvic inflammatory disease (PID)
  • Scabies
  • Epididymo-orchitis
  • Thrush
  • Bacterial vaginosis
  • Trichomonas vaginalis

We also offer screening for and vaccination against Hepatitis B and screening for Hepatitis C to those who are at risk of these infections.

Remember you may have a sexually transmitted infection and not have any symptoms. If you are worried, come and get checked. 

Free HIV home testing service

We offer general information, advice and counselling relating to sex and all STIs. Order your home testing kit from www.yourship.co.uk  

Pregnancy 

We can help with all aspects of pregnancy testing.

Have an unplanned pregnancy and don’t know what to do?  Whatever you decide we will give you the help and support you may need.

Contraception 

We can provide oral methods of contraception at the clinic. These include The Combined Pill and The Progesterone-Only Pill.

There are many other types of contraception including long acting methods, which may be more effective than ‘the pill’ such as: 

  • The Implant
  • Intrauterine Device (IUD)
  • Intrauterine System (IUS/ Mirena)
  • Progesterone Injection (Depo)

We can provide emergency contraception and some oral contraceptives. 

Help with genital dermatoses (soreness, itches and rashes)
